Los Angeles County Courts have been transitioning to electronic filing (eFiling) since 2017, with Probate courts mandating eFiling on June 5th, 2017. Since then, eFiling was available for Limited Civil, Unlimited Civil, Complex Civil, and Family Law Court Case Types in late 2018 and early 2019.
Electronic filing is the process of digitally submitting your court files/legal paperwork into the court system for review by the local clerk. If the paperwork is accepted, it is officially added to the court record and used to process cases, evidence, motions, etc.
